Sony Ericsson to release a WiFi add-on accessory?

Eldar from Mobile-Review, when he doesn't write exceptionally good and without-press-release-quotes reviews, seems to have 'inside' information from basically a lot of the major phone manufacturers. Take, for example, his review of the Samsung G810 (S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1) that was published an hour or so before the Mobile World Congress started.

But I digress. In his article analysing Sony Ericsson's announcements prior to the MWC, he hints that Sony Ericsson have an add-on WiFi accessory in the works. As he didn't give any other details, I don't know the exact product range that this would be for, but given that Sony Ericsson's proprietary connector is rather standard in their line of phones, I would guess that the targets for this would be quite a few.

This is a very good move in my opinion. We smartphone users would probably never understand phones that don't feature WiFi, as this technology (and the 'hotspots' it powers) spreads more and more across the world (and since the mobile operators have not yet understood what the word "unlimited" means). But it still is rather a novelty for average users, who maybe wouldn't like to pay for some high-end device only to get this feature (if they shouldn't care for the other features of such devices).

This is where this (I'd say rumored, at this point) accessory comes in. A simple idea, yet no one (at least of the big phone manufacturers) seems to have thought about it.

We've had 'smartphone for the masses' (Nokia 6120 Classic, the yet-unreleased Sony Ericsson G700 and G900), now bring on "WiFi for the masses". All of this can only be for the better.
